“Why show sympathy and consideration at a friends problems when you can have a good cheap laugh”
This has been the guiding rule for us as a group of friends, ever since Tommy declared it, and none of us has complained about the results, despite all, at various times, being at the receiving end.
Be it: significant skiing injuries, or insignificant shower ones; divorce; motorcycling fails; work problems; bowel disorders; or that strange beer sneeze… the list is very long..
Like most of Tommy’s humour of course it was the timing, we are caring guys (in the main.. but not always!) but if anyone gets a bit too self obsessed in their problem, stops seeing the wood for the trees, Bam! Out comes Tommy’s law, and the problem is reduced by some snyde sarcastic magic, everyone else is laughing, and you just know you deserved it.
